Actresses
Emily Bergl and
Ashley Austin Morris will lead cast and crew members from the Off Broadway show,
Love, Loss, and What I Wore, as they install Sheetrock in affordable Habitat-NYC homes in Bed-Stuy.
The actresses will accessorize their construction outfits with boots, hard hats and electric drills. They will help to renovate an eight-unit building, originally built in 1931. When completed, it will become affordable condominium homes for low-income working New York City families.
The building is part of 100 Homes in Brooklyn, a new Habitat-NYC initiative to build or renovate affordable homes in Bedford-Stuyvesant and Ocean Hill-Brownsville, communities hit hard by the foreclosure crisis. The initiative is funded in part with a grant from the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 28
(Between Marcus Garvey Blvd. and Lewis Ave.)
Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn
